Jakarta, ThedailyID — The United States has revealed new details about the F-47, a sixth-generation stealth fighter designed to maintain American air superiority in future conflicts.
Developed under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program, the F-47 is expected to replace or complement existing fighter aircraft, including the F-22 Raptor.
The aircraft combines advanced stealth capabilities, artificial intelligence integration, and next-generation networking systems. As a result, military officials describe it as one of the most sophisticated combat aircraft ever developed.
Unlike previous fighter jets, the F-47 is designed to operate alongside autonomous drones known as Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). These unmanned systems can support missions ranging from reconnaissance to electronic warfare and combat operations.
Moreover, the aircraft features enhanced stealth technology that aims to reduce detection by advanced radar systems. Engineers also designed the jet to maintain survivability in highly contested environments.
The F-47 reportedly offers greater operational range than current fifth-generation fighters. This capability allows the aircraft to conduct missions across vast regions, particularly in the Indo-Pacific theater.
In addition, the fighter incorporates advanced sensors and data-sharing systems. These technologies enable pilots to process battlefield information more quickly and coordinate with allied assets in real time.
While many technical details remain classified, defense officials have indicated that the aircraft will feature improved propulsion systems and superior maneuverability compared to previous generations.
The F-47 is also expected to play a key role in future air combat strategies that rely heavily on artificial intelligence, networked warfare, and human-machine teaming.
The aircraft remains under development, and the US military has not disclosed a full timeline for operational deployment. However, defense analysts view the F-47 as a cornerstone of America’s future air power strategy.
