Jakarta, ThedailyID — Universal Pictures Indonesia has officially confirmed that the supernatural horror film Obsession will be released in Indonesian theaters.
The announcement came through the distributor’s official Instagram account. In the post, Universal teased the film’s premise and warned audiences about the dangers of unchecked desires.
“Be careful what you wish for. Your wish has been granted by One Wish Willow. Obsession is coming soon to theaters,” the distributor wrote.
However, Universal Pictures Indonesia has not yet announced the film’s official release date. The company also has not confirmed which cinema chains will screen the movie.
Directed by Curry Barker and produced by Blumhouse Productions, Obsession has already attracted significant attention from international audiences.
Moreover, the film reportedly earned more than US$150 million at the global box office despite being produced on a relatively modest budget.
The story follows a man named Bear, who discovers a mysterious object known as the One Wish Willow. Using the artifact, he wishes for the woman he secretly loves to return his feelings.
However, the wish soon triggers a terrifying chain of events. What begins as sincere affection gradually transforms into a dangerous obsession with devastating consequences.
The film stars Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette in the lead roles. Together, they bring a story that blends supernatural horror, psychological thriller elements, and romance that slowly descends into terror.
As a result, Obsession has become one of the most anticipated horror releases among Indonesian moviegoers this year.
Although audiences must wait for an official screening schedule, Universal Pictures Indonesia stated that the film will arrive in theaters soon.
