Jakarta, ThedailyID — Chinese heavy equipment manufacturer Shantui has opened a new service center in Marunda, Bekasi, as it expands its operations in Indonesia.
The Shantui Service Center Indonesia officially opened on Thursday at the Marunda Center Industrial and Warehousing Estate in Bekasi Regency, West Java.
The facility brings together spare parts, technical training, equipment testing and heavy component rebuilding. Shantui said the center will help shorten response times and provide support throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Shantui International Company Chairman Chai Sen said Indonesia holds an important position in the company’s regional growth strategy.
“Based on the vast potential of the Indonesian market, the operation of the Shantui Indonesia Service Center represents our commitment to sinking deep roots and serving the local market,” Chai Sen said in a press briefing on Friday, September 11, 2026.
He added that Shantui plans to increase investment in service centers and strengthen its local service team.
The Marunda facility keeps local stocks of fast-moving spare parts, major mechanical components, undercarriages and specialized lubricants. This setup aims to reduce equipment downtime for customers.
The center also provides technical training for engineers, dealers and customer technicians. Training covers product knowledge, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
In addition, Shantui operates a Pre-Delivery Inspection and commissioning system at the facility. A workshop also handles equipment diagnosis, component rebuilding and reconditioning.
PT Shantui Equipment Indonesia CEO Sari Wang said the facility represents more than an expansion of physical infrastructure.
“This Service Center is not merely the opening of a new facility, but a concrete step toward providing closer support, faster response times, and greater peace of mind for our customers,” Sari Wang said.
She added that Shantui wants to support customers through spare parts, technical training, unit handovers, major overhauls and reconditioning.
The opening also featured equipment handovers to Indonesian companies. Shantui delivered two EV Wheel Loaders to PT Kobexindo Konstruksi Indonesia and two SE500LD Excavators to PT Anugerah Cahaya Mulya.
Shantui entered the Indonesian market in 2004. The company later established PT Shantui Equipment Indonesia in 2025.
Following the Marunda launch, Shantui plans to expand its distribution and service network beyond Java. The company is targeting resource-rich regions in Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
Shantui is also participating in Mining Expo Indonesia 2026 alongside its parent company, Shandong Heavy Industry Group, and sister brands including Weichai, Sinotruk, Lovol and Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile.
The expansion comes as Indonesia remains an important market for heavy equipment supporting mining, construction and other resource-based industries.
