Jakarta, ThedailyID — PT Kliring Berjangka Indonesia (PT KBI) has supported the soft launch of a rail-based Warehouse Receipt System (SRG) facility in Gedebage, Bandung, as part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s commodity logistics network.
As the country’s sole state-owned Warehouse Receipt Registration Center, PT KBI joined the Head of the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (BAPPEBTI) in reviewing the facility and handing over operational approval for the coffee commodity warehouse.
The Gedebage SRG warehouse is owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia and operates through a partnership with PT ASLI Logistik Indonesia. Meanwhile, PT Sucofindo manages the warehouse.
The project integrates commodity storage facilities with rail transportation. As a result, stakeholders expect more efficient and measurable distribution processes.
In the future, the warehouse will function not only as a storage facility but also as a logistics hub connecting production centers with domestic and international markets. Moreover, the rail-based model aims to strengthen supply chains, reduce logistics costs, and improve the competitiveness of Indonesian commodities.
During the initial phase, the facility will focus on storing Java Preanger coffee, one of West Java’s most recognized export commodities. Consequently, businesses may gain wider market access while benefiting from more efficient distribution channels.
PT KBI President Director Budi Susanto said the initiative reflects strong collaboration among stakeholders in Indonesia’s commodity sector.
He added that PT KBI remains committed to integrating the Warehouse Receipt System into the national logistics ecosystem. Furthermore, he expressed hope that West Java will become a pioneer in implementing rail-based SRG infrastructure.
According to PT KBI data, coffee accounted for 47 percent of all commodities registered through the company’s IsWare Next Gen platform as of May 2026. The figure highlights the growing use of SRG by coffee producers to manage inventory and access financing.
To support further growth, PT KBI continues to strengthen digitalization through IsWare Next Gen. The platform improves registration efficiency while supporting commodity verification, transparency, and accountability across the SRG ecosystem.
The company also promoted the program during WIITEX 2026, which it attended alongside the West Java Provincial Government. The event connected PT KBI with international buyers from countries including Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Germany.
Budi said PT KBI will continue expanding strategic partnerships to support commodity industry development and contribute to Indonesia’s long-term economic growth.
