Jakarta, ThedailyID — PINTU Incubator has entered its fifth year by expanding its collaboration between Indonesia and France, while announcing plans to establish the PINTU Incubator Indonesia Foundation to support the long-term growth of the country’s fashion industry.
Organisers unveiled the initiative during a press conference at JF3 Media Lounge in Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading, Jakarta, on July 20. The event also introduced this year’s selected designers, who will showcase their collections at JF3 Fashion Festival 2026 from July 22 to 29.
Launched in 2022 by JF3, LAKON Indonesia, and the French Embassy through the Institut Français d’Indonésie (IFI), the programme has attracted more than 10,000 fashion brands and designers. This year, organisers selected 10 participants from 39 applicants for an intensive incubation programme before choosing five finalists to present their work at JF3.
The five selected brands are Saul Studio, Toja House, ALDRIE, ANDREAN NR, and DACIA. Their collections highlight modern tailoring, upcycled materials, reinterpretations of Indonesian textiles, and sustainable craftsmanship.
Thresia Mareta, Founder of LAKON Indonesia and Co-Initiator of PINTU Incubator, said the programme focuses on helping designers grow through experience, mentorship, and fresh perspectives rather than simply providing answers.
“Our goal is not only to produce strong collections, but also to develop fashion entrepreneurs who can continue growing and confidently shape their own future,” she said.
Soegianto Nagaria, Chairman of JF3 Fashion Festival and Co-Initiator of PINTU Incubator, said the programme aims to create a complete support system for emerging designers by connecting them with mentors, industry knowledge, professional networks, and collaboration opportunities.
This year’s participants completed 39 capacity-building sessions covering business strategy, merchandising, branding, intellectual property, and export regulations. Eighteen experts from Indonesia and France led the programme.
PINTU Incubator has also expanded its international reach through its Accelerator Programme. Indonesian brand DENIMITUP collaborated with French label TAREET, while Lil Public presented its work at École Duperré’s annual fashion show in Paris earlier this month.
The programme also continued its PINTU Residency, which paired Indonesian and French designers with local artisan communities from April to July 2026. In Lombok, French designer Mickaël Nana and Beatrice Angelica created the GARUDA collection by combining Western tailoring with traditional woven textiles. Meanwhile, Lisa Rayar and Gabriel Marcella developed AU LARGE, blending Indonesian batik with French maritime influences in Mojokerto.
Organisers said the establishment of the PINTU Incubator Indonesia Foundation will help ensure the programme continues to nurture emerging talent and strengthen connections between Indonesia’s fashion industry and the global creative community.
