Jakarta, ThedailyID — Retirement has become a calmer and more productive chapter for Koeswanto, a 63-year-old retired civil servant from Banyumas, Central Java.
After ending his career as a state employee, Koeswanto now spends his days managing fish ponds, tending a small garden, and running a grocery shop near his home in Banjarsari Kulon Village, Sumbang District.
He said he always wanted to stay active after retirement, especially because pension funds alone were not enough to fully support long-term family needs.
Before retiring in April 2025, Koeswanto admitted he already planned to live peacefully in the countryside. However, he still lacked a clear business direction for his post-retirement life.
That changed after he attended a socialization program from Bank Mandiri Taspen, also known as Bank Mantap.
Koeswanto described the bank as a guide that helped him find confidence and direction after retirement.
Through financing programs offered by Bank Mantap, he began building fish ponds and developing small-scale businesses around his home.
He said the bank’s support helped remove uncertainty about his future and motivated him to remain productive.
Koeswanto also praised the bank’s service quality, professionalism, and personal assistance during his transition into retirement.
According to him, Bank Mantap played an important role in helping retirees prepare financially and emotionally for life after work.
He hopes the bank will continue supporting more retirees across Indonesia so they can enjoy retirement with greater security and independence.
