Jakarta, ThedailyID — Bank Mandiri Taspen reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare of Indonesian seniors through health, entrepreneurship, and social programs during the commemoration of National Elderly Day 2026.

This year’s celebration carries the theme “Resilient Seniors, Growing Indonesia.” The theme highlights the important role older citizens play in supporting national development.

Compliance & Human Resource Director Rio Lanasier said seniors should not only receive protection and support. He said they also continue to contribute valuable experience and inspiration to society.

According to Rio, healthy, active, and independent seniors can remain productive and help strengthen communities. Therefore, support systems that improve their quality of life remain essential.

As part of its social responsibility efforts, Bank Mandiri Taspen distributed ready-to-use reading glasses to 110 customers across its branch network. The assistance aims to help seniors carry out daily activities more comfortably.

The initiative aligns with Mantap Sehat, one of the bank’s flagship programs. Currently, Bank Mandiri Taspen operates around 155 health clinic points across Indonesia.

These clinics provide medical checkups, doctor consultations, and medication services for pension customers. As a result, retirees can access healthcare more easily.

The bank also continued its “Mantap Melihat” cataract surgery program. The company fully funded the initiative in Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, and Medan.

The program helped 192 customers and family members receive cataract surgery. Participants also received eye examinations, medical assistance, transportation, and accommodation support when needed.

Meanwhile, Bank Mandiri Taspen handed over nine Mantapreneur trademark certificates issued by Indonesia’s Directorate General of Intellectual Property.

The certificates strengthen legal protection for small business owners. In addition, they help entrepreneurs improve business credibility and competitiveness.

The bank also continues to expand its Mantapreneur Naik Kelas (MNK) program under the Mantap Sejahtera pillar. The initiative has reached cities including Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, and Semarang.

Through the program, hundreds of retired entrepreneurs have received business training and mentoring. The number of assisted MSMEs has also grown to thousands.

Participants receive guidance on business management, digital marketing, personal branding, and export opportunities. Furthermore, the program encourages retirees to remain productive after leaving the workforce.

Businesses supported through the initiative include culinary ventures, batik, fashion, handicrafts, leather goods, furniture, and other creative industries.

Rio said Bank Mandiri Taspen aims to remain a trusted partner for Indonesian retirees. The bank hopes its programs can help retirees enjoy healthier, more prosperous, and meaningful retirement years.
