Jakarta, ThedailyID — Actor Tom Holland said he is excited about the future of Spider-Man and hopes to see a new generation eventually take over the iconic superhero role.
Speaking in a recent interview, Holland said he feels fortunate to have portrayed Spider-Man for nearly a decade. However, he believes the character is larger than any one actor and should continue evolving for future audiences.
Holland explained that Spider-Man has always represented different generations. Because of that, he expects new actors and fresh interpretations to keep the character relevant in the years ahead.
The actor also expressed enthusiasm about seeing how future filmmakers and performers might approach the role. He said each generation deserves its own version of Spider-Man.
Despite discussing the future of the franchise, Holland remains committed to the character. He is set to return as Peter Parker in the next Spider-Man film currently in development.
Holland first appeared as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War before starring in standalone films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
His portrayal became one of the most successful versions of the superhero, helping the franchise earn billions of dollars at the global box office.
While fans continue to speculate about Holland’s long-term future as Spider-Man, the actor suggested he would welcome the moment when a younger generation gets the opportunity to wear the suit.
For now, however, Holland remains focused on the next chapter of Peter Parker’s story as Marvel and Sony continue developing future Spider-Man projects.
