Jakarta, ThedailyID — Ruang Amal Indonesia and IFG Life held training for deaf online motorcycle drivers in Jakarta on Monday, September 21, 2026.
The program covered financial management, safety riding, and employment social security. The Ministry of Community Empowerment, or Kemenko PM, supported the event.
The training took place at the Heritage Room of the Kemenko PM Building in Jakarta. It aimed to support social inclusion for people with disabilities.
Dyah Tri Kumolosari, Deputy for Social Welfare Improvement Coordination at Kemenko PM, said people with disabilities should remain a priority in Indonesia’s development.
“People with disabilities are a priority, not an addition. Indonesia’s development must be inclusive, including for people with disabilities. No group should be left behind,” Dyah said, as reported on
She also highlighted the importance of safety and social security for deaf online motorcycle drivers.
“We want to ensure that when our friends go out on the road, they can ride safely and have access to employment social security,” she said.
Dyah also expressed appreciation to Ruang Amal Indonesia, IFG Life, and other organizations involved in the program.
The event brought together 60 deaf online motorcycle drivers from Greater Jakarta. They are members of the Indonesian Deaf Volunteer Online Motorcycle Driver Community, known as KOTRI.
Slamet Tuharie, CEO of Ruang Amal Indonesia, said Greater Jakarta has around 1,300 deaf online motorcycle drivers.
“This is the second time we have held this activity with IFG Life,” Slamet said.
He said online motorcycle drivers represent one of the vulnerable groups in Indonesia’s workforce. Therefore, financial literacy and safety training can help support their economic activities.
IFG Life Corporate Secretary Gatot Haryadi also highlighted the importance of the program. He said the initiative helps open access for online motorcycle drivers with disabilities.
“On behalf of IFG Life, we thank everyone for their collaboration and participation. This event is meaningful because it provides online motorcycle drivers with insights into financial planning and safety riding,” Gatot said.
Gatot hopes participants can apply the lessons from the training in their daily lives.
Representatives from Kemenko PM, IFG Life, DPLK IFG Life, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, and KOTRI also attended the event. Ruang Amal Indonesia’s management team also joined the program.
