Mario Aji and Veda Ega Rally Fans Ahead of Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026

Jakarta, ThedailyID — PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (ITDC) have launched a nationwide campaign encouraging Indonesians to support local riders Mario Suryo Aji and Veda Ega Pratama at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, which will take place at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, from October 9 to 11.

Carrying the theme “Indonesia Goes Global with Pertamina”, the campaign aims to unite fans behind Indonesia’s representatives as they compete on home soil. Mario Aji will race in the Moto2 class, while Veda Ega Pratama will compete in Moto3.

The promotional campaign kicked off on July 17 with a fan meet-and-greet at ARTOTEL Jakarta and Sarinah. Hundreds of fans, media representatives, and members of the automotive community gathered to meet the two riders ahead of one of Indonesia’s biggest sporting events.

The event also featured a convoy through central Jakarta, starting from ARTOTEL Senayan and passing Bundaran Semanggi before finishing at Sarinah. The celebration concluded with a special performance by Indonesian band RAN.

Mario Aji said meeting Indonesian fans before the race gave him extra motivation to perform well in front of a home crowd.

Veda Ega Pratama described racing in Mandalika as a proud moment for his career and called on supporters to fill the grandstands.

“I’m proud to race at Mandalika as the home rider. Mario and I will give our best for Indonesia. I hope fans will fill the circuit and support us directly,” Veda said.

ITDC Operations Director and Chairman of the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, Troy Warokka, said the event highlights Indonesia’s ability to host world-class motorsport while nurturing local talent.

He added that the race generates significant economic benefits and provides Indonesian riders with an international platform to showcase their abilities.

“MotoGP is not only about the world’s best riders competing. It is also a stage for Indonesia’s own talents to perform before their home supporters,” Troy said.

Pertamina Vice President of Corporate Communication Muhammad Baron said the Grand Prix serves as an investment in the future of Indonesian motorsport by creating more opportunities for young riders.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Motorcycle Safety Commission Chairman Ahmad Jayadi emphasized that strong public support is essential to help Indonesian riders continue competing at the highest level.

He also highlighted the importance of Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in developing Indonesia’s motorsport ecosystem through more international events and racing opportunities.

Following the Jakarta activities, Mario Aji and Veda Ega are scheduled to continue their Homecoming Tour in Bali as part of the promotional campaign leading up to the race weekend.
