The France captain continues to build one of the most remarkable World Cup careers in modern football. His consistent performances have already placed him among the tournament’s greatest goalscorers.
Mbappe has scored 63 goals in 103 appearances for France. 19 of those goals have come in the World Cup.
Since the 2018 edition, Mbappe has netted 11 goals in knockout matches and eight more during the group stage.
His 11 knockout goals surpass the totals recorded by several football powerhouses over the same period.
Brazil and England have each scored 10 knockout-stage goals across the 2018, 2022, and 2026 World Cups. Portugal has managed nine, while Spain has scored only four.
France, meanwhile, has produced 27 goals in World Cup knockout matches since 2018. Mbappe alone accounts for more than 40% of that total.
The 27-year-old recently moved ahead of Lionel Messi in the all-time World Cup scoring race and continues to close in on the tournament’s historic goalscoring record.
With France advancing deeper into the 2026 World Cup, Mbappe will have additional opportunities to extend his remarkable tally and further cement his place among football’s all-time greats.
