Jakarta, ThedailyID — Bank Mandiri Taspen has donated a free drinking water station worth Rp42.4 million to SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
The company handed over the assistance during a ceremony at Convention Hall Simpang Lima Gumul (SLG) in Kediri on Sunday. Management representatives presented the donation to Dharma Wanita Foundation Chairperson of Kediri Regency, Eriani Annisa Hanindhito.
Division Head of Strategic Digital & Corporate Transformation at Bank Mandiri Taspen, Iwan Kurniawan, said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to social and environmental sustainability.
“Drinking water is one of the basic needs that supports students’ daily learning activities,” Iwan said. “We combined that need with our go-green campaign, which led to the idea of providing a ready-to-drink water station.”
According to Iwan, the facility aims to encourage positive behavioral change among students. It also supports efforts to reduce plastic waste generated by single-use bottled water.
“This water station serves as a concrete contribution to the go-green campaign, particularly by reducing dependence on single-use plastic packaging,” he added.
The initiative received praise from SMA Dharma Wanita 1 Pare Principal Ahmad Riziq Mubarok. He said the program would provide significant benefits for students, especially because the school operates as a boarding school.
“Our students live on campus and spend most of their time in the school environment,” Riziq said. “As a result, the demand for safe and hygienic drinking water is very high every day.”
He added that the CSR program would help ensure students have better access to clean drinking water while promoting environmentally friendly habits.
With the new facility in place, the school hopes to improve student health and hygiene standards. At the same time, it aims to foster greater environmental awareness among students and staff.
