Jakarta, ThedailyID — Nine people died when a business jet crashed and exploded in Florida, United States, on November 1. The Learjet 60 was carrying a family and their relatives from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas for a vacation.
Before the crash, the flight crew reportedly alerted air traffic control about turbulence and ice forming on the aircraft. However, aviation authorities have yet to determine whether these conditions contributed to the accident.
Here is a list of the nine victims.
Adam Robinson and His Family
Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, and their two children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, were among the passengers killed in the crash.
A joint family statement confirmed their deaths. It also named Rachael Reed, Charmi Fehr, and Anita Maria Cetina as victims.
“Adam and Helen were loving and devoted parents. Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, were the light of their lives,” the statement said.
Robinson was the founder and CEO of RB2B and Retention.com. He also served as CEO of Motlsets. Before entering the technology industry, he worked at financial institutions Lehman Brothers and Barclays.
Fellow technology entrepreneur Jesse Ouellette remembered Robinson as a friend who shared his views on building software companies.
Meanwhile, media reports identified Sharp as an artist. Her father, Dudley Sharp, expressed his grief over losing his daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
“The plane was carrying our daughter, her husband, and our two grandchildren,” he said.
Anita Maria Cetina
Cetina reportedly worked as a nanny for Emma and Charlie. The Robinson family described her as a devoted caregiver who had become an important part of their family.
“Cetina cared for Emma and Charlie with great tenderness and dedication. She was truly part of the family,” the statement said.
Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr
Reed and Fehr were also passengers aboard the aircraft. The Robinson family described them as joyful and adventurous individuals.
The statement said the two shared a close relationship and had built a life together. Various media reports also identified them as close friends of Robinson.
Jeff Gregory
Gregory was identified as the Learjet 60’s captain. He previously worked for charter airline East Coast Jets between 2016 and 2017.
“We are deeply saddened to learn that Captain Jeff Gregory was among those who lost their lives in yesterday’s tragic aviation accident in Palm Beach,” an East Coast Jets spokesperson told BBC.
Nathalia Filgueiras
Filgueiras served as the aircraft’s co-pilot. She was just 20 years old and had already obtained her pilot’s license while still in high school.
She earned her license in 2023 at the age of 17. Her mother, Camila, confirmed that Filgueiras was part of the crew flying the Learjet from Austin to the Bahamas.
Camila said her daughter had worked as a commercial pilot for nine months and accumulated 1,300 flight hours.
“I knew the plane would take her away from me. I always knew that, but I was so proud of her. I knew she was living her dream,” Camila said, as quoted by the New York Post on Monday, November 2.
