Jakarta, ThedailyID — Three participants in the Youth Pledge Declaration at the HI Roundabout in Jakarta have apologized after wearing university jackets and claiming to be students during the event on October 29, 2026.
One of the participants, Vrisma Nurhaliza, said she was not a student at Universitas Terbuka, despite wearing the university’s jacket during the event.
“On this occasion, I, Vrisma Nurhaliza, would like to apologize to all students and Universitas Terbuka for the situation involving my use of a jacket bearing the Universitas Terbuka logo at the Youth Pledge Declaration event at the HI Roundabout on October 29, 2026. I would like to clarify that I am not a student of Universitas Terbuka,” Vrisma said in a video posted on Monday, November 2.
She also admitted that she was paid to take part in the event.
“I attended the event because there was payment involved,” she added.
Two other participants, Sari Putri and Bayu Setiadi, also issued apologies after wearing jackets associated with other universities.
Sari, who wore a jacket bearing the logo of Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika, said she was not an active student at the university. She said the jacket had been given to her by someone she did not know.
“I would like to clarify that I am not an active student of UBSI. The jacket I wore was given to me by someone I did not know and does not represent my official identity as a UBSI student,” Sari said.
Meanwhile, Bayu Setiadi, also known as Dino, apologized for wearing a Universitas Dian Nusantara jacket. He said he was not a student at the university and had been paid to attend the event.
“I would like to clarify that I am not a student of Universitas Dian Nusantara. I attended the Youth Pledge Declaration event at the HI Roundabout on October 29, 2026, based on an invitation from a community, and I was paid,” Dino said.
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police also apologized for the controversy surrounding the declaration. The police said they accepted public criticism as material for evaluation.
According to CNN Indonesia, the three participants have stressed that their actions did not represent the universities whose jackets they wore.
