Jakarta, ThedailyID — Apple has confirmed that its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, will enter the Indonesian market.
However, Apple has not announced the local launch date or official price. The company only says the device will be available in Indonesia soon.
Apple will offer the iPhone Duo in four storage options. They include 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB.
In the United States, the iPhone Duo starts at US$1,999. That equals around Rp35 million based on an exchange rate of Rp17,622 per US$1.
The 2TB model costs US$3,199. That is roughly Rp56 million.
However, Indonesian buyers may have to pay more. Apple’s iPhone prices in Indonesia have often exceeded their global launch prices.
For example, the iPhone 17 Pro launched globally at US$1,099. In Indonesia, its starting price reached Rp23.749 million.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max started at US$1,199 globally. Meanwhile, its Indonesian launch price reached Rp25.749 million.
That created a price gap of around Rp5 million for the iPhone 17 Pro. The difference reached about Rp6 million for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Previous iPhone launches also show similar differences. The iPhone 15 started at around Rp12.3 million globally. In Indonesia, the starting price reached around Rp16 million.
Meanwhile, the highest iPhone 15 variant reached Rp33.9 million in Indonesia.
The iPhone 16 followed a different pattern. Its Indonesian starting price stood at Rp14.999 million, while the highest variant reached Rp32.999 million.
However, the iPhone 16 entered Indonesia more than six months after its global launch. That timing contributed to its lower launch price compared with the iPhone 15.
Based on the previous iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max price differences, the iPhone Duo could cost significantly more in Indonesia.
The predicted starting price could reach around Rp40.999 million. Meanwhile, the top 2TB model could approach Rp62 million.
These figures remain estimates. Apple and its official Indonesian distributors have not announced the final prices.
The actual price will likely depend on taxes, import costs, exchange rates and Apple’s local pricing strategy.
For now, Indonesian consumers can expect four storage choices:
- 256GB: predicted from around Rp40.999 million
- 512GB: expected to cost more than the 256GB model
- 1TB: expected to approach the upper price range
- 2TB: predicted to reach around Rp62 million
Apple previously introduced the iPhone Duo as its first foldable iPhone. The device features a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display when unfolded.
The company has also equipped it with the A20 Pro chip, a titanium body and a multi-layer foldable display system.
For Indonesia, however, consumers will still have to wait for Apple to reveal the official launch date and pricing.
