Jakarta, ThedailyID — Bank Mandiri held a Ramadan iftar gathering and charity program for orphans in Surakarta. The event took place at Menara Mandiri Surakarta.
The program forms part of Mandiri’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility initiative. It supports the campaign “Appreciate the Blessings of the Moment by Sharing Kindness.” The initiative aims to deliver sustainable social benefits while reflecting the company’s commitment to serve wholeheartedly.
Through this initiative, Bank Mandiri strengthened its role as a strategic partner of the government in social development. The program also brought employees and local communities closer together. Ramadan served as a key moment to promote empathy, solidarity, and social care.
President Director Riduan attended the event alongside Vice President Director Henry Panjaitan and several board members. They included Operations Director Timothy Utama, Human Capital & Compliance Director Eka Fitria, Risk Management Director Danis Subiyantoro, Treasury & International Banking Director Ari Rizaldi, and Finance & Strategy Director Novita Widya Anggraini.
Riduan said Ramadan provides an important moment for companies to strengthen social solidarity through meaningful action.
“Through the togetherness and sharing we carry out today, Bank Mandiri hopes to bring meaningful blessings while strengthening harmonious relations with the community in Surakarta,” Riduan said in a statement on Wednesday (March 4).
He added that the program reflects Bank Mandiri’s commitment to stay present in social initiatives with strong humanitarian value. The company aims to appreciate Ramadan’s blessings through relevant and impactful contributions.
In addition to the iftar gathering, Bank Mandiri distributed aid packages to local communities in Surakarta. The assistance included school supply packages, health packages, and social support packages for basic needs.
The bank also organized a free circumcision program for children around its operational areas. The initiative supports public health while delivering direct benefits to local communities.
Overall, the Mandiri Group plans to distribute aid to more than 114,000 beneficiaries during Ramadan. The program targets orphans, older people, underprivileged communities, and vulnerable groups near Bank Mandiri operations.
To complement Ramadan and Eid celebrations, Bank Mandiri also launched a free homecoming travel program. This year, the company prepared transportation to 80 destination cities across Indonesia.
“As an agent of development, Bank Mandiri remains committed to integrating social values into every corporate initiative,” Riduan said. “Through the spirit of sharing during Ramadan, we hope to strengthen synergy with communities and stakeholders.”
School Aid Distribution
Regional CEO Region VII/Jawa 2 Iwan Tri Imawan said the iftar and charity event gathered 243 participants. They included employees from Region VII/Jawa 2 and 100 orphaned children from four social foundations in Surakarta.
They came from Nur Hidayah Foundation (25 children), Graha Yatim Dhuafa Harapan Rabbani Solo (25), Ihsan Sakeena Orphanage (25), and Dharma Aji Insan Orphanage (25).
Region VII/Jawa 2 has distributed 2,250 school aid packages to orphans across 27 orphanages. The region also delivered 100 health aid packages for older residents and 1,089 basic food packages for communities near Bank Mandiri offices across Central Java and Special Region of Yogyakarta.
“As the closing of our Ramadan activities, we also organized a free mass circumcision program for 250 underprivileged children in collaboration with Mandiri Amal Insani,” Iwan said.
