Ascaro Padel Faces Police Report Over Alleged Rp6 Billion Investment Fraud

Jakarta, ThedailyID — An Indonesian investor has filed a police report against PT Ascaro Courts Jakarta, Ascaro Courts Kuala Lumpur III Sdn. Bhd., and two company executives over allegations of fraud, embezzlement, and money laundering linked to a Rp6 billion investment in a padel court project, according to a statement from the investor’s legal representatives.

The complaint, submitted to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya), alleges that the companies failed to deliver a promised padel facility after receiving investment funds. The legal filing also names Karl Daniel Liljekvist, director of both companies, and Oscar Arrsjö.

According to HFALawyers, the investor agreed to finance the project after company representatives presented a business proposal in October 2025 for the construction of an Ascaro Padel venue at Sahid Sudirman in Central Jakarta. The investor subsequently transferred Rp6 billion, with the companies allegedly committing to complete construction within three months.

However, the legal team claims construction never began despite the agreed deadline passing at the end of January 2026. The statement adds that inspections conducted before the police report found no construction activity at the proposed site.

The investor later issued two formal warning letters demanding either the return of the funds or the commencement of the project. According to the statement, the companies did not respond to either notice, while PT Ascaro Courts Jakarta could no longer be located at its registered business address.

HFALawyers alleges that the case may constitute fraud, embezzlement, and violations of Indonesia’s anti-money laundering law. The law firm said investigators have received supporting evidence, including the investment agreement, proof of payment, copies of the warning letters, and correspondence between the parties.

“We attempted to resolve the matter amicably, but instead of responding in good faith, Ascaro Padel remained passive and continued to delay without providing any clarity,” legal counsels Husni Farid Abdat and Umar Musa Sembiring said in the statement.

As of July 28, 2026, the legal team said the project had shown no meaningful progress and that the investor had not recovered the funds. The case remains under police investigation.

HFALawyers also warned that alleged misconduct could undermine confidence in Indonesia’s rapidly growing padel industry. The firm called on authorities to pursue the investigation and protect both investors and the country’s investment climate.
