Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia’s Housing and Settlement Areas Minister Maruarar Sirait met with Bank Syariah Indonesia President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo in Jakarta on Thursday to discuss stronger collaboration in supporting government housing financing programs.
During the meeting, Maruarar praised BSI’s active role in supporting government initiatives, especially in the housing sector.
He said cooperation between the government and financial institutions remains important to expand public access to affordable and proper housing.
Maruarar also highlighted positive developments in the government’s Housing Financing Credit (KPP) program across several regions.
One of the highest achievements came from a KPP socialization event organized by BSI in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, which recorded Rp315.7 billion in realization.
According to the minister, the KPP program also supports the government’s effort to create a stronger middle-income population.
He added that national KPP realization has reached around Rp16.2 trillion so far.
Meanwhile, BSI’s KPP distribution has reached around 67 percent of its Rp1.2 trillion target, or approximately Rp800 billion.
Most debtors reportedly came from the consumer demand side.
BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo welcomed the government’s housing policies and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting public housing programs.
He said BSI plans to continue strengthening its contribution to the housing sector through financing support and future collaboration with the government.
Anggoro explained that BSI targets Rp1.2 trillion in Housing Financing Credit distribution throughout 2026.
The bank also supports the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) program with a target of financing 5,540 subsidized housing units.
So far, BSI has completed financing contracts for around 1,250 subsidized homes.
Through collaboration with Islamic banking institutions, the Housing Ministry hopes more Indonesians will gain wider access to affordable housing financing.
