Jakarta, ThedailyID — PT Astra Agro Lestari Tbk shared insights on sustainable palm oil operations during a corporate visit attended by students from the Faculty of Economics and Business at UPN Veteran Jakarta.
The activity took place through the university’s Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) program called Visit Emiten 2026. Students visited Astra Agro to learn more about investment, sustainability, and corporate governance in the palm oil industry.
Vice President of Corporate Communication Astra Agro, Mochamad Husni, said sustainability remains important for the future of Indonesia’s palm oil sector.
He explained that sustainable business practices support both commercial growth and national welfare.
“Best operational practices and sustainability commitments are important for creating prosperity together with the nation,” Husni said during the event.
Meanwhile, KSPM President Anugerah Putra Prasetyo said investors should understand more than financial numbers when studying a company.
“As investors, we should also understand how a company’s business process actually works,” he said.
According to organizers, the event aimed to give students direct exposure to the corporate world. The program also encouraged students to understand sustainable investment practices more deeply.
Project Officer Dinda Suci Batalano said the event highlighted the importance of balancing profit with environmental and social responsibility. She also thanked Astra Agro for opening learning opportunities for students interested in business and capital markets.
During the visit, Astra Agro introduced students to its operational systems, governance practices, and sustainability commitments.
Husni added that the company hopes the program can inspire students to broaden their understanding of Indonesia’s industrial sector.
“We hope this becomes a valuable learning experience for students,” he said.
The event also reflected Astra Agro’s corporate motto, “Prosper With the Nation,” which emphasizes inclusive and sustainable growth.
