Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesian prosecutors have prepared a 1,597-page indictment document related to the Chromebook procurement case involving former Education Minister Nadiem Makarim.
The case centers on the procurement of Chromebook laptops during Nadiem’s tenure at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Investigators are currently examining alleged irregularities connected to the project’s implementation and budgeting process.
According to prosecutors, the lengthy indictment contains detailed evidence, witness statements, financial findings, and investigation results collected during the case development process.
Officials said the document reflects the complexity of the investigation. In addition, prosecutors continue coordinating with investigators to prepare the next legal steps.
The Chromebook procurement program previously aimed to support digital learning and education infrastructure across Indonesia. However, the project later drew public scrutiny after allegations regarding procurement procedures and budget management emerged.
Authorities have not yet disclosed all details contained in the indictment document. Nevertheless, the case has continued attracting national attention due to its connection with a large-scale government technology program.
Meanwhile, legal observers said the unusually thick indictment indicates prosecutors are attempting to build a comprehensive case supported by extensive documentation and testimony.
The Attorney General’s Office continues handling the investigation process. At the same time, officials have urged the public to wait for the court proceedings and legal findings before drawing conclusions.
