Jakarta, ThedailyID — Police are investigating the death of a 47-year-old company executive, identified by the initials WH, who was found dead in a hotel room in South Jakarta on Wednesday (July 15).
South Jakarta Police spokesperson AKP Joko Adi Wibowo said officers found injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to police, WH had checked into the hotel accompanied by his driver.
Investigators said WH had sent messages to his wife and child before he was found. The messages reportedly contained an apology related to personal family matters.
Concerned by the messages, the victim’s family contacted the driver and asked him to check on WH. The driver later found him unresponsive in the hotel room.
Police said their preliminary investigation points to personal issues as a possible factor. However, officers emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing and have not announced a final conclusion regarding the cause or manner of death.
Joko also said the couple had recently been communicating and were reportedly trying to improve their relationship.
Authorities continue to gather evidence and question witnesses as part of the investigation.
