Jakarta, ThedailyID — Online news outlet thedaily.id, in collaboration with credit guarantee company PT Jamkrindo, held a friendly badminton tournament on Saturday (29/08) at GOR Mimi 2, Pondok Gede.
The tournament brought together recreational badminton players for men’s and women’s doubles competitions, running from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. WIB. Beyond competition, the event aimed to strengthen sportsmanship, friendship, and networking among participants.
Thedaily.id Editor-in-Chief Ganet Dirgantoro, who opened the tournament, highlighted badminton’s accessibility and its ability to promote both physical fitness and stronger community ties.
“Badminton offers unique benefits compared to many other sports. Through this tournament, participants not only gain physical health but also strengthen our ties of friendship. Most importantly, everyone can enjoy an afternoon filled with entertainment and exciting prizes,” Ganet said during his opening remarks, Saturday (29/08).
Ganet also expressed hope that similar community tournaments could be held regularly to further encourage public interest in badminton, particularly among younger generations, while helping nurture potential future athletes.
He also praised Jamkrindo for supporting grassroots sports alongside its role in credit guarantees and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) empowerment.
“We deeply appreciate Jamkrindo’s dedication. Their involvement demonstrates that their commitment extends beyond supporting the MSME ecosystem to actively fostering sports achievements in Indonesia. We hope this fruitful partnership continues in the future,” he added.
The four-hour tournament featured friendly competition across both doubles categories before concluding with an awards ceremony and entertainment session for participants and attendees.
