Prosecutors Receive 714 Pieces of Evidence in Roy Suryo and Tifa Case Over Jokowi Diploma

Jakarta, ThedailyID — Prosecutors have officially received 714 pieces of evidence related to the case involving Roy Suryo, Rismon Sianipar, and Tifa over alleged misinformation concerning former President Joko Widodo’s diploma. The transfer marks another step in the legal process after investigators completed the case files.

The South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office accepted the evidence from investigators on Sunday. Authorities confirmed the evidence will support the prosecution process as the case moves closer to court.

The collection includes electronic devices, digital storage media, printed documents, and other items that investigators believe are relevant to the alleged offenses.

The case centers on public claims questioning the authenticity of Jokowi’s university diploma. Authorities previously named Roy Suryo, Rismon Sianipar, and Tifa as suspects over allegations that they spread false information and violated Indonesia’s electronic information law.

Investigators spent months collecting digital evidence, examining witnesses, and conducting forensic analysis before declaring the case complete. Prosecutors will now review all evidence before preparing the indictment.

Officials said the transfer of evidence, commonly known as the second phase of the legal process, indicates that investigators have handed over both the suspects and the evidence to prosecutors.

The Attorney General’s Office stated that prosecutors will continue examining the case to ensure every legal requirement is fulfilled before the trial begins.

The case has drawn widespread public attention because it involves prominent public figures and long-running debates surrounding Jokowi’s academic credentials. Government officials have repeatedly maintained that the former president’s diploma is authentic and has passed official verification.

Authorities urged the public to respect the ongoing legal process and avoid spreading unverified information while prosecutors prepare the case for court proceedings.
