Jakarta, ThedailyID — PT Pertamina Patra Niaga said prices for non-subsidized fuels such as Pertamax and Pertamina Dex will continue to follow the formula set by the Indonesian government.
The company made the statement as global oil prices and the rupiah exchange rate continue to fluctuate. These factors influence fuel pricing.
Pertamina Patra Niaga VP of Communication Kitty Andhora said the company follows government policy for both subsidized and non-subsidized fuels.
“Pertamina Patra Niaga follows the government’s policy on fuel price setting. Although several pricing parameters, such as global oil prices and exchange rates, are fluctuating, there will be no increase in subsidized fuel prices until the end of 2026,” Kitty said, Sunday, September 13, 2026.
For non-subsidized fuels, also known as General Fuel Types (JBU), Pertamina will continue to use the government’s pricing formula.
“Meanwhile, for JBU, prices follow the formula set by the government,” Kitty said.
Pertamina Patra Niaga Retail Marketing Director Eko Ricky Susanto previously said non-subsidized fuel prices could reach Rp18,000 to above Rp20,000 per liter if global oil prices remain high.
“The prices of Pertamax, Dex and others could range from Rp18,000 to the Rp20,000 range because there is still no indication that global oil prices will decline,” Eko said on September 11.
According to Eko, the global energy market remains affected by tensions in the Middle East. Disruptions around key energy routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, have also added pressure.
“The war in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz have global impacts. Besides affecting energy availability, they have also kept prices unstable,” Eko said on September 11.
Brent crude rose about 1% to US$108.68 per barrel on September 11. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) climbed about 1% to US$103.45 per barrel.
Both benchmarks had jumped more than 6% during trading on September 10. Over the week, Brent and WTI had each gained nearly 13%.
Eko previously hoped oil prices could return to US$60-US$70 per barrel, as seen before the latest geopolitical crisis. However, he said the outlook depends on global developments.
Pertamina Patra Niaga said it will continue to implement government policies on fuel prices and distribution in line with applicable regulations.
