Jakarta, ThedailyID — Former Indonesian President Joko Widodo, widely known as Jokowi, is scheduled to visit Lampung for three days from June 26 to 28. The trip will include events organized by the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), local volunteers and community groups.
Brigade Rakyat Nusantara chairman Relly Reagan said his organization invited Jokowi to Lampung and will accompany him throughout most of the visit.
“We invited him. There are also several PSI events during the trip, so we will accompany him at nearly all activities except internal party meetings,” Relly said on Thursday.
Jokowi will begin the visit on Friday by attending PSI regional coordination meetings in Mesuji and Tulang Bawang. Later that day, he is also scheduled to attend the Elephant Cultural Carnival Parade.
On Saturday, Jokowi will meet Lampung traditional leaders. He will also visit the Transmigration Museum and Bagelen Village.
Meanwhile, the former president is expected to meet local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Maliosewu. He will also attend a gathering with volunteers in Lampung.
The visit will conclude on Sunday with another cultural parade in East Lampung. Jokowi is also scheduled to meet SME owners before visiting Nurul Qodiri Islamic boarding school.
Afterward, he will travel to Kota Gajah for another event with local SMEs and volunteer groups, Relly said.
The three-day visit comes as Jokowi continues making public appearances across Indonesia after leaving office. His Lampung itinerary combines political events, cultural activities and meetings with community organizations.
