Jakarta, ThedailyID — PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo), together with Indonesia Financial Group (IFG), strengthened its women empowerment initiative at Tangerang Women’s Prison on April 21, 2026. The program marked Kartini Day.
The initiative is titled “Aku Bangkit dan Berdaya,” which translates to “I Rise and Empower Myself.” It supports female inmates through skills training, mental development, and financial literacy.
Kartini Day is observed every April 21 in Indonesia. It honors R.A. Kartini, a national heroine who fought for women’s rights and education. Therefore, the day highlights the importance of empowering women across all sectors.
The program continues an initiative launched in 2025. It focuses on helping inmates build independence and prepare for social reintegration. Moreover, its name reflects the goal of rebuilding confidence and self-reliance.
Acting Corporate Secretary of Jamkrindo, Agustius Handoko, said the program shows the company’s commitment to social impact. He stressed that it goes beyond technical skills.
“Program Aku Bangkit dan Berdaya does not only focus on improving skills, but also builds self-confidence and new hope for inmates,” Agustius said. “We believe every individual has the opportunity to rise and contribute back to society.”
Furthermore, Jamkrindo and IFG apply a holistic approach. They combine mental coaching, vocational training, and financial education. As a result, participants can move beyond past stigma and rebuild their future.
Agustius added that collaboration within the IFG ecosystem strengthens the program’s reach. Therefore, Jamkrindo continues to support inclusive and sustainable social development.
Meanwhile, Head of Tangerang Women’s Prison, Salis Farida Fitriani, welcomed the initiative. She highlighted its impact on self-awareness and mental health.
“This program is expected to create positive change, especially in increasing self-awareness and mental health of inmates,” Salis said. “We are optimistic it can run consistently and deliver sustainable benefits.”
As a result, Jamkrindo and IFG expect the program to grow further. They aim to help build a more inclusive society. At the same time, Kartini Day reinforces values of equality, courage, and independence.
