Jakarta, ThedailyID — Two Palestinian teenagers were killed after Israeli settlers and forces raided Al Mughayyir village in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli soldiers opened fire as residents tried to stop the settlers from entering the village.
The gunfire wounded Mohammad Na’ssan and Khalil Abu Aliya, both 19. They later died from their injuries.
Sources speaking to Al Jazeera said Israeli snipers had positioned themselves on the rooftops of residents’ homes before the raid.
Al Mughayyir has faced repeated attacks in recent months. The latest incident adds to growing violence across the occupied West Bank.
At least 79 Palestinians, including 19 children, have been killed in the West Bank since the beginning of 2026. At least 1,870 others have been injured.
The violence has also affected places of worship. On Tuesday, September 1, Israeli forces fired tear gas into a mosque in Madama, causing worshippers to cough.
Hours earlier, Israeli settlers reportedly attempted to set fire to a mosque in Bazariya.
The escalation has drawn criticism from some of Israel’s allies. Last month, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee issued a rare condemnation after Israeli settlers surrounded a Palestinian home in Qusra for three weeks.
The European Union is also considering restrictions on imports of goods produced by Israeli settlements in occupied territory.
Violence and military raids have continued across the occupied West Bank since the outbreak of the Gaza war in October 2023.
