Jakarta, ThedailyID — Israeli military strikes in Lebanon continue to escalate, leaving more than 1,100 people dead and forcing tens of thousands to flee their homes.

According to Al Jazeera on March 27, 2026, the death toll has surpassed 1,100. At the same time, around 136,000 residents have been displaced as the attacks persist.

Data from the Disaster Risk Management Unit shows that 136,262 people have taken shelter in multiple locations. The figure includes nearly 35,000 affected households.

Meanwhile, National News Agency reported that the number of fatalities has reached 1,116. More than 3,200 others have sustained injuries.

On the political front, Hezbollah said it will not engage in ceasefire negotiations while the attacks continue.

Deputy leader Naim Qassem delivered the statement, stressing the group’s stance amid ongoing hostilities.

In response, the Israeli government said it will continue military operations. This includes deploying ground troops into southern Lebanon near the Litani River, about 30 kilometers from the border.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is building a “security zone” to prevent further attacks.

He added that the operation aims to expand buffer areas and strengthen national security.

Amid rising tensions, Hezbollah claimed it has launched retaliatory strikes against Israeli military targets. The group also fired missiles that triggered warning sirens in several areas.

The ongoing escalation has worsened the humanitarian situation and raised concerns over a broader conflict in the Middle East.
