Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia will increase the naturalization fee for foreign nationals from Rp50 million to Rp75 million per application under a new government regulation.
The government introduced the new tariff through Government Regulation (PP) No. 30 of 2026, which governs non-tax state revenue collected by the Ministry of Law.
President Prabowo Subianto signed the regulation on July 2, 2026, and the government promulgated it on the same day. The regulation will take effect 30 days after its issuance. The new fee will apply to foreign nationals who submit applications to become Indonesian citizens through the standard naturalization process.
Previously, Government Regulation No. 45 of 2024 set the naturalization fee at Rp50 million per application. Under the updated policy, applicants must now pay Rp75 million, representing a 50% increase from the previous tariff.
The government also increased the citizenship application fee for foreign nationals who obtain Indonesian citizenship through marriage. Applicants in this category will now pay Rp25 million, compared with Rp15 million under the previous regulation.
Meanwhile, the regulation sets a Rp5 million fee for children born to mixed-nationality marriages or in countries that apply the jus soli principle if they have not registered or selected Indonesian citizenship. The same Rp5 million tariff also applies to dual-nationality children who fail to declare or choose one nationality within the required period.
Overall, the regulation revises several citizenship-related service fees. However, it does not change the application procedures or legal requirements for obtaining Indonesian citizenship.
