Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia will take a commanding head-to-head record into its decisive 2026 AFF Cup Group A match against Singapore on August 7, with the Garuda aiming to keep their semifinal hopes alive.

The two Southeast Asian rivals have met 59 times in official matches. Indonesia has won 30 encounters, while Singapore has claimed 19 victories.

Their most recent meeting came in the 2020 AFF Cup, played in December 2021, when Indonesia defeated Singapore 4-2 in the second leg of the semifinals to reach the final.

Singapore’s last victory over Indonesia came during the 2018 AFF Cup, when the Lions secured a 1-0 win in the group stage.

Friday’s match at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore will decide one of the semifinal spots from Group A.

Singapore needs only a draw to advance, while Indonesia must win to remain in contention.

Indonesia sits third in the standings with six points, one behind second-placed Singapore. Vietnam leads the group with seven points and a superior goal difference.

Although Vietnam remains the favorite to qualify, it could still miss out under an unlikely combination of results involving a heavy defeat to Cambodia and an Indonesian victory over Singapore.
