IFG and Jamkrindo Strengthen Culture and UMKM Collaboration in Bandung

Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) and PT Jaminan Kredit Indonesia (Jamkrindo) are strengthening support for UMKM and the creative economy.

The two companies joined the 2026 Ruang Resonansi IFG Group event in Bandung on Sept. 26. The event carried the theme “Menghidupkan Budaya untuk Melahirkan Karya,” or “Bringing Culture to Life Through Creativity.”

The event brought together cultural heritage, young people, artists, communities, UMKM, and businesses. It also explored how cultural heritage can inspire creative works and new economic opportunities.

Deputy Attorney General of Indonesia Asep N. Mulyana welcomed the initiative. He said people should view cultural heritage as more than something from the past.

According to Asep, heritage can also provide ideas and inspiration for the present. He also highlighted the role of UMKM in preserving culture and creating economic value.

“I appreciate the space provided for UMKM at this event. Behind every product lies the work and knowledge of families and communities,” Asep said.

He added that recognizing producers and appreciating product quality can help cultural preservation create economic benefits.

Asep also encouraged young people to understand their cultural roots. He urged them to create responsibly while respecting cultural works and their creators.

In addition, he encouraged artists, communities, UMKM, businesses, and young people to build stronger collaborations.

He also called on IFG Group, Jamkrindo, and their partners to expand public access to historic buildings. At the same time, he encouraged them to provide opportunities for local talent and UMKM.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of UMKM M. Riza Damanik expressed support for the event.

He said the initiative supports UMKM empowerment and assistance. It can also help businesses improve their capacity and competitiveness.

OJK Head of Financial Services Institution Supervision Division 5 Arieck Priyatna highlighted another key area. He said the event can help strengthen financial literacy among UMKM owners.

Stronger financial literacy can help business owners manage finances and access funding. It can also help them make better financial decisions for long-term business growth.

IFG Director of Human Resources and Legal Rizal Ariansyah said culture plays an important role in the creative economy.

“Culture is not only a heritage we need to preserve. It is also a source of inspiration that can drive creativity and create economic opportunities,” Rizal said.

Through Ruang Resonansi, IFG aims to connect cultural values, creativity, and UMKM empowerment. The company also wants to create broader benefits for local communities.

Rizal said collaboration across the IFG ecosystem remains important. Such cooperation can help cultural-based economic opportunities grow sustainably.

He added that UMKM support involves more than financing. It also requires a stronger ecosystem that allows businesses to grow over the long term.

“When culture can become works and products with economic value, we preserve heritage while creating opportunities for communities to grow,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jamkrindo President Director Abdul Bari said culture and UMKM have a close relationship.

Many Indonesian cultural traditions continue through UMKM activities. These include handicrafts, culinary businesses, music, art, and other local creative products.

“Culture can become a source of inspiration, creativity, and growth for UMKM. Therefore, cultural preservation and UMKM development should move forward together,” Abdul Bari said.

Jamkrindo supports this ecosystem through its credit guarantee business. The company helps expand financing access for UMKM, including businesses in creative, arts, and cultural sectors.

“As a guarantee company, we are committed to expanding financing access for UMKM. This includes businesses in the creative economy, arts, and culture,” Abdul Bari said.

He added that credit guarantees can help UMKM access financing and expand their businesses. The support can also help them create broader economic impacts.

The event also carried historical significance because it took place at the IFG Life Asia Afrika Building in Bandung.

The historic building provided a space to reconnect cultural and historical values with public life. The initiative also aimed to create new value from existing heritage.

Through Ruang Resonansi IFG Group 2026, IFG and Jamkrindo are connecting culture, creative industries, and UMKM empowerment.

The collaboration aims to create more opportunities for creative works. It also seeks to strengthen the contribution of UMKM to the local economy.
