Los Angeles, ThedailyID — Herbalife Ltd. plans to acquire selected assets from Bioniq to strengthen its personalized nutrition capabilities.
The deal reflects Herbalife’s push to build a data-driven health and wellness platform.
Chief Executive Officer Stephan Gratziani said the future of wellness will rely on personalization and data.
“Health and wellness will increasingly become personalized and data-driven,” he said.
The company will combine Bioniq’s technology with its platforms, including Pro2col and Link BioSciences. This integration will help Herbalife scale personalized nutrition solutions globally.
Bioniq develops customized supplements using patented technology. It uses biomarker data and individual health profiles to create tailored formulas.
The company serves a wide range of users, including general consumers and elite athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo.
Meanwhile, Bioniq founder Vadim Fedotov said the partnership aligns with his vision.
“I founded Bioniq to help people optimize their health through science-based nutrition,” he said.
He added that Herbalife’s global distribution network will expand access to personalized wellness solutions.
Cristiano Ronaldo, a long-time Herbalife partner and Bioniq investor, also supported the move.
“Personalized nutrition and biometrics have played a key role in my career,” Ronaldo said.
He added that tailored nutrition helps improve performance and overall health.
Herbalife expects the transaction to close in the second quarter of 2026. The company still needs regulatory approvals and must meet standard closing conditions.
Herbalife will pay US$55 million over five years. The company will make an initial payment of US$10 million at closing.
The deal also includes up to US$95 million in performance-based payments.
As part of the agreement, Herbalife gains a call option to acquire Bioniq LAB. The platform focuses on small molecules and peptides.
This option gives the company flexibility to explore long-term opportunities in advanced nutrition technology.
Herbalife plans to launch Bioniq’s personalized supplements later this year. The company will distribute the products through its independent distributors in Europe and the United States.
The company plans further expansion into other markets.
