Jakarta, ThedailyID — EA Sports has predicted that Spain will lift the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy after defeating Argentina in the tournament final.
The game developer has built a reputation for accurately predicting World Cup champions through its football simulation franchise. Since 2010, EA Sports has correctly predicted the winners of four consecutive FIFA World Cups.
The company successfully picked Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, France in 2018, and Argentina in 2022. All four predictions proved correct.
Before the 2026 tournament began, EA Sports’ EA FC account predicted that Spain would become world champions. Following Spain’s 2-0 semifinal victory over France, fans revisited the prediction on social media.
Many football fans now believe Spain has a strong chance of winning the World Cup, given EA Sports’ impressive track record.
“EA needs to be investigated for scripting,” one fan jokingly wrote on social media.
Another fan commented, “You need to be investigated. You know too much about scripting games.”
Meanwhile, one supporter wrote, “I’m betting my entire savings on Spain. Don’t let me down.”
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will see Spain face defending champions Argentina. The highly anticipated match is scheduled for July 20 at 2 a.m. WIB.
EA Sports is not the only one backing Spain. Several leading artificial intelligence chatbots have also predicted that La Roja will win the tournament.
ChatGPT, Claude AI, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot all selected Spain as their favorite to lift the trophy. Their predictions were made earlier in the competition.
If Spain defeats Argentina in the final, EA Sports will extend its remarkable World Cup prediction streak to five straight tournaments.
