Jakarta, ThedailyID — Chinese robotics company Unitree has unveiled a new humanoid robot nicknamed “Superman” that can jump 2 meters from a standing position.

The robot can also run at speeds of up to 12.66 meters per second. Unitree said it developed the robot in just over three months, although the machine remains under development.

The company has gained global attention for humanoid robots capable of running, dancing and performing martial arts. Unitree founder Wang Xingxing also drew attention after appearing in the front row at a technology entrepreneurs’ summit hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping last year.

Unitree said last week that it had produced and distributed more than 18,000 bipedal humanoid robots across various models.

The company has also made waves in China’s stock market. Unitree became the first general-purpose robotics company to list on mainland China’s stock exchanges.

Its shares began trading in Shanghai on August 19 after the company raised 6.1 billion yuan, or around Rp4.2 trillion, through its initial public offering.

The IPO attracted retail demand more than 8,000 times the number of shares available, setting a record for China’s technology-focused STAR Market.

Unitree is also backed by major Chinese technology companies, including Tencent, Alibaba and DeepSeek.
