Jakarta, ThedailyID — Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) is inviting Gen Z to embrace Indonesian products and make halal living part of a modern lifestyle. Through BSI International Expo 2026, the bank aims to connect young consumers with local brands that have expanded into international markets.
Themed “Buy Local, Go Global,” the expo will run from October 23 to 25, 2026, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC). It will feature 426 tenants across several halal industry sectors, including fashion, food and beverages, beauty, halal tourism, property, gold and automotive.
BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo said Indonesia’s large Muslim population offers a strategic opportunity to strengthen the domestic halal industry. Of the country’s approximately 290 million people, around 253 million, or 87%, are Muslim, according to the figures cited by BSI.
Anggoro also highlighted the role of young consumers in expanding the market. With young people making up a significant share of the population, Gen Z could help drive demand and strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian brands.
“We want halal lifestyle to become a source of pride for young people. Local products should be chosen because of their quality, innovation and competitiveness, not simply because they come from Indonesia,” Anggoro said.
Several Indonesian brands with international reach will participate in the event. They include local footwear brand LOKAMOV, Othman and Kopi Kalyan, which have opened outlets in Japan, as well as SSB (Soto Seger Boyolali) Hj Hesti Widodo, which has expanded its business into Saudi Arabia.
Visitors can also explore Muslim fashion designers, local perfumes and other halal products and services.
Beyond the exhibition, BSI will host a Business Hub connecting entrepreneurs with potential partners and buyers through business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) activities. The initiative aims to expand business networks, create export opportunities and help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises grow.
The expo will also feature Fit & Faith activities, including padel sessions, sharing sessions and talks with religious leaders, public figures and other inspirational speakers. In addition, visitors can learn about BSI’s halal ecosystem services, covering Hajj and Umrah, home financing through BSI Griya, vehicle financing through BSI OTO, gold banking and digital services through BYOND by BSI and BEWIZE.
“We want to connect Indonesia’s MSME potential with global market opportunities and make the halal industry a driver of national economic growth,” Anggoro said.
Visitors can also access promotional offers during the event. These include vehicle financing promotions with electric motorcycle gifts, home financing packages with furniture bonuses, Umrah discounts and cashback on BSI Gold Savings, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
For entertainment, the event will feature performances by Bernadya and Wali, alongside special shows by Nidji and Sheila on 7.
