Jakarta, ThedailyID — Bank Mandiri has distributed humanitarian aid to communities affected by a 7.6 magnitude earthquake in North Sulawesi and North Maluku on April 2, 2026.
The bank moved quickly to deliver essential supplies through its Mandiri Tanggap Bencana program. It handed the assistance directly to local disaster agencies, including the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in North Sulawesi and Ternate.
Regional CEO for Sulawesi and Maluku, Nunung Andreas Wisnu, said the company acted immediately to support affected residents.
“We continue to strengthen coordination with BPBD, local authorities, and governments to ensure aid reaches people quickly, safely, and accurately,” he said.
At the same time, Bank Mandiri continues to monitor conditions in affected areas. The bank has also prepared emergency response volunteers to assist on the ground.
The initiative forms part of the company’s social and environmental responsibility program. It aims to ease the burden on communities during the emergency response phase.
Meanwhile, Bank Mandiri confirmed that its operations in North Sulawesi and North Maluku remain stable. Branch offices, ATMs, and digital banking services continue to run normally.
The bank has intensified monitoring efforts to ensure uninterrupted access to financial services. This includes maintaining the performance of digital platforms such as Livin’ by Mandiri, Kopra by Mandiri, and Livin’ Merchant.
Furthermore, the bank emphasized its role as a strategic partner to the government. It aims to maintain reliable services while supporting communities during disasters.
“Bank Mandiri continues to coordinate with regional units to anticipate developments and ensure a fast, measured response,” Nunung added.
