Jakarta, ThedailyID — A fire broke out at an apartment on Jalan KH. Mas Mansyur, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Friday (04/09/2026).
The Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency received the report at 11:23 a.m. The fire reportedly started on the fifth floor, involving a cable shaft.
“Apartment, fifth floor (cable shaft),” the Fire Department Command Center reported, Friday (04/09/2026).
Authorities deployed 17 fire trucks and 85 firefighters to the scene. Firefighters began their response at around 11:30 a.m. and continued working to extinguish the blaze.
“Fire situation/status: firefighting in progress,” the Command Center reported..
Authorities had not determined the cause of the fire at the time of reporting.
The incident occurred in a densely populated part of Central Jakarta, where apartment fires can pose challenges for emergency crews due to the height and structure of the buildings.
