Jakarta, ThedailyID — Kementerian Koordinator Bidang Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (Kemenko PM) strengthened its “Perintis Berdaya”, a program focused on building self-reliant village economies through community empowerment in East Lampung on April 16, 2026. The initiative focuses on community-based empowerment to boost local economic independence.
The program aims to maximize local potential by improving social and economic capital. It also promotes sustainable development through stronger collaboration between communities and government policies.
Leontinus Alpha Edison from Kemenko PM said development must combine policy support with grassroots initiatives. “We aim to transform dependency into independence by building a strong village economy ecosystem,” he said.
During the visit, Kemenko PM held a dialogue session to gather input from local businesses and cooperatives. The discussion helps ensure policies remain relevant, inclusive, and aligned with real needs on the ground.
The program focuses on four key pillars: digital innovation, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and migrant worker protection. These pillars support UMKM growth, cooperative development, and integrated protection systems.
Ela Siti Nuryamah, Regent of East Lampung, welcomed the initiative as a boost for regional development. She said collaboration with the central government can help unlock local potential in agriculture and small businesses.
Meanwhile, Sinthia Harkrisnowo from International Labour Organization (ILO) expressed support for improving migrant worker protection. She emphasized the need for digital literacy and technical skills to strengthen global competitiveness.
The initiative also involves academics, business associations, and civil society groups. Together, they aim to build a collaborative and sustainable development ecosystem at the village level.
