Jakarta, ThedailyID — Demand for Apple’s first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, has exceeded available stock, pushing some delivery estimates to January 2027.
Preorders opened in the United States on Friday, October 16, and sold out quickly. However, delivery estimates vary depending on when customers placed their orders.
According to Engadget, preorder demand alone does not determine a product’s long-term success. Still, the strong response suggests Apple has overcome some of the initial challenges surrounding its new device.
Apple has told customers it will work to deliver the product as quickly as possible. The company also plans to keep online orders open.
Meanwhile, customer reports on social media show different delivery schedules. Apple’s website lists availability as early as October 23 for some buyers, while others have received estimated delivery dates in November or December. Customers who missed the initial preorder window may have to wait until January 2027.
It remains unclear whether physical Apple Stores and authorized retailers will have stock available for walk-in customers.
When Will the iPhone Duo Arrive in Indonesia?
In Indonesia, authorized Apple distributor Digimap has confirmed that the iPhone Duo will arrive soon. However, the company has not announced an official launch date.
“Please wait, hopefully very soon. We’ll share the news with you soon,” said Farah Fausa Winarsih, general marketing manager for Apple at PT MAP Zona Adiperkasa, on Friday, October 16.
Previously, Apple enthusiast Bagus Hernawan predicted on X that the device could launch in Indonesia on October 30. However, that date remains unconfirmed.
The iPhone Duo has already received Indonesia’s Domestic Component Level (TKDN) certification. Data from the Industry Ministry’s TKDN website lists a 40% domestic component level for an Apple Indonesia smartphone carrying the model code A3720, which reports identify as the iPhone Duo.
Although the certification signals progress toward its local arrival, Indonesian consumers must still wait for an official launch announcement.
