JAKARTA,thedaily.id-Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) has intensified its operational defense against potential digital threats by conducting the Cyber Incident Response & CBDR Drill 2026 to guarantee seamless port operations.
Carrying the theme “21 Hours to Recover – From Incident to Recovery,” the comprehensive exercise rigorously tested JICT’s end-to-end resilience. The drill evaluated everything from complete system restoration to operational continuity and crisis communication protocols under high-pressure scenarios.
JICT President Director Ade Hartono emphasized that cybersecurity has evolved beyond a pure IT responsibility into a fundamental pillar of terminal operational readiness.
“What is tested is not just how fast systems are restored, but how fast the organization makes decisions, keeps operations controlled, manages communication, and ensures services return to function end-to-end,” Ade Hartono said in Jakarta on Friday.
He noted that system reactivation alone does not equate to full service restoration. Before declaring operations fully normal, JICT conducts rigorous multi-level validation spanning business processes, applications, databases, connectivity, and transactional operations to verify system integrity.
“An active system does not automatically mean services are recovered. Every element across JICT must validate services to ensure all ‘return to normal’ criteria are completely met,” Ade Hartono added.
The exercise also incorporated joint coordination between JICT and TPK Koja to evaluate inter-system connectivity and service integration. Throughout the drill, recovery timelines were tightly monitored using the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) parameter, targeting a maximum recovery window of 21 hours.
“Cyber resilience is not something built after an incident occurs. It must be prepared, tested, and continuously improved. Our goal is simple: when disruptions happen, everyone understands their role, decisions are made swiftly, operations remain controlled, and JICT recovers as a unified organization,” Ade Hartono stated.
