Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesian tennis player Janice Tjen has competed in 26 tournaments from January through September 2026, recording notable results in doubles alongside a mixed singles campaign.
The 24-year-old Jakarta-born athlete began her season at the ASB Classic. She competed in both singles and women’s doubles with Caty McNally.
Janice lost in the opening round of the singles draw. However, she reached the doubles semifinals before McNally withdrew, ending their run before the final.
At the Hobart International, Janice again exited the singles competition early. In doubles, however, she claimed the title with Katarzyna Piter.
Janice then competed at her first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open. She reached the second round in singles but lost in the opening round of the doubles competition.
Her doubles campaign continued to produce strong results in the following months. She reached the semifinals at the Mérida Open Akron and Abu Dhabi Open.
Janice returned to the winners’ circle in June at the Birmingham Classic. She won the doubles title alongside Talia Gibson.
Since then, she has yet to add another title. In singles, Janice has frequently exited in the second round. Her latest result came at the Guadalajara Open, where she lost to former US Open champion Sloane Stephens.
Janice, currently ranked 51st in the WTA rankings according to the source, will next turn her attention to the Singapore Open 2026 on September 21.
She is also scheduled to compete at the China Open 2026, a mandatory WTA tournament. The event carries WTA 1000 status and means Janice will miss the 2026 Asian Games.
