Jakarta, ThedailyID — PT AXA Mandiri Financial Services (AXA Mandiri) and its employees have raised more than Rp50 million to support survivors of the devastating magnitude 7.7 earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The funds will support basic necessities for vulnerable survivors during the post-disaster recovery period. Mandiri Amal Insani (MAI) will distribute the assistance to children, women and elderly residents affected by the disaster.
AXA Mandiri Compliance Director Rudy Kamdani symbolically handed over the donation to MAI Director Zainal Abidin in Jakarta.
The initiative reflects AXA Mandiri’s effort to combine corporate resources with employee contributions. The company said this collective approach can provide immediate support while helping affected communities rebuild.
“The disaster in NTT brings profound sorrow to us all,” said Elisabeth Evaty Dewi, Chief Human Capital Officer of AXA Mandiri, Thursday (02/09/2026).
“As part of the Indonesian community, AXA Mandiri and all our employees want to ensure that the people of NTT know they are not facing these difficult times alone,” Elisabeth added.
She said the company hopes the assistance can provide tangible relief and encourage survivors to rebuild their lives.
The earthquake struck the Flores region on August 15, 2026. According to data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as of August 30, the disaster had caused 111 casualties and displaced tens of thousands of families.
BNPB also recorded 95,567 damaged homes across NTT. Damage ranged from minor structural cracks to completely destroyed buildings.
Healthcare facilities and schools also suffered significant damage. The destruction has created additional challenges for communities trying to restore daily life.
AXA Mandiri said collaboration across sectors and community solidarity remain important to support the recovery process and strengthen long-term resilience in affected areas.
