Jakarta, ThedailyID — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have returned to the UK for what is expected to be a longer stay, arriving at Birmingham Airport on Wednesday (26/8/2026), just a week before their children are scheduled to begin school in Britain.
The Sussexes flew from California on a private jet chartered through Planet 9. According to Page Six, the aircraft costs around US$12,000 per hour, with the 10-hour flight putting the estimated cost at at least US$120,000, or more than Rp2.1 billion.
The Bombardier Global Express XRS features two bathrooms, five beds, and enough storage for around 12 to 15 medium-sized suitcases. The aircraft was reportedly refurbished in 2023.
A source told Page Six that Harry and Meghan chose a private jet so they could bring their two dogs, a black Labrador named Pula and a beagle named Mia, with them to the UK. Their pet chickens, meanwhile, were reportedly left at their home in Montecito, California.
The couple’s return comes after they met King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House in July 2026. The meeting marked the first time in four years that Charles had seen Meghan and his grandchildren.
According to a source cited by Page Six, Harry and Meghan decided to return to Britain to be closer to Charles and give their children more opportunities to build relationships with the royal family.
“Harry and Meghan chose the private jet so they could bring their family dogs to the UK,” a source told Page Six, as quoted on Thursday (27/8).
Harry and Meghan first left the UK for the United States in 2020, in a move widely dubbed “Megxit.” The couple had since been living in California before their latest decision to spend more time in Britain.
