Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesian peer-to-peer lending company MEKAR has secured its fourth industry award of 2026.
PT Mekar Investama Teknologi (MEKAR) won the Infobank Financial Technology Award 2026 in the “Excellent Performance Financial Technology Company 2026” category. The award recognizes fintech companies with assets below IDR 100 billion.
Infobank Media Group presented the award during the Leadership Mastery Forum 2026 at The St. Regis Jakarta on Friday, August 14.
The recognition highlights MEKAR’s focus on productive financing rather than high-risk consumer lending. The company shifted its strategy toward productive sectors in 2016.
Since then, MEKAR has directed 89.20% of its total lending portfolio toward income-generating activities. The platform has also provided working capital to more than 133,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Women make up 75.3% of MEKAR’s borrowers. The figure highlights the company’s role in expanding financial access for female entrepreneurs and small businesses in underserved areas.
“This award serves as both a valued recognition and a moment of reflection on MEKAR’s journey in the fintech industry,” said MEKAR CEO Pandu Aditya Kristy.
He added that MEKAR’s goal goes beyond growing its asset size. The company aims to expand credit access while creating measurable impacts across Indonesia’s productive economy.
Meanwhile, MEKAR has expanded its operations through the broader MEKAR Ecosystem. The network connects financing with several real-sector initiatives.
These initiatives include trade financing through joint operational schemes (KSO), sustainable agriculture, and waste-to-energy projects.
In agriculture, the ecosystem has revitalized and cultivated more than 382 hectares of land. It has also established commercial partnerships with 519 local farmers to support food security and agricultural production.
MEKAR CEO Pandu Aditya Kristy and COO Mahwi Winarto received the award during the event. The forum brought together business leaders and financial regulators to discuss economic uncertainty and leadership.
Keynote speakers included Dian Ediana Rae, Chief Executive of Banking Supervision and a member of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners.
Bank Central Asia (BCA) President Commissioner Jahja Setiaatmadja also joined the event as a keynote speaker.
As fintech regulations continue to evolve, MEKAR’s latest award highlights the growing focus on sustainable digital financing.
Rather than simply providing digital credit, the company aims to channel financing into productive businesses. Through this approach, MEKAR seeks to support MSMEs, local communities, and Indonesia’s wider real economy.
