Halal Indo 2026 Brings Industry Leaders and Creators Together to Strengthen Indonesia’s Halal Ecosystem

Jakarta, ThedailyID — The Ministry of Industry of Indonesia and Dyandra Promosindo brought together industry leaders, policymakers, communities, and content creators through the Halal Leaders & Creator Gathering on Aug. 4. The event aimed to strengthen collaboration ahead of the Halal Indonesia International Industry Expo (Halal Indo) 2026.

Held under the theme “Connecting the People Behind Indonesia’s Halal Future,” the gathering served as a platform to encourage innovation and promote a more inclusive and competitive halal ecosystem.

Acting Director General of Small, Medium, and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) Adie Rochmanto Pandiangan highlighted Indonesia’s significant halal market potential. He noted that the country’s Muslim population reached 242.6 million in 2023, with estimated spending exceeding IDR 11,182 trillion.

“Indonesia possesses a strong foundation to leverage the growth of the halal industry, from small-scale enterprises to large corporations,” Adie said. “This momentum can strengthen domestic production, improve the halal supply chain, and encourage value-added innovation.”

He also emphasized that content creators play an increasingly important role in introducing the halal industry to wider audiences.

“In developing the halal industry, creators translate technical industry concepts into simple, creative, and relevant stories,” he said. “We want halal to become part of everyday lifestyle, not just regulatory compliance.”

The Ministry of Industry reported that nearly 2.8 million halal certificates had been issued by the end of the second quarter of 2024, covering more than 5.4 million products. However, officials said domestic consumption of halal-certified products has yet to match the rapid growth in certification.

As a result, organizers hope stronger collaboration between government, businesses, and creators will increase public awareness while supporting Indonesia’s “Proud to Buy Local” campaign.

The event also featured a talk show titled “Unlocking the Future of Halal Lifestyle Economy: Where Policy, Innovation, Beauty, and Influence Create Business Opportunities.” Speakers included Dewi Setiawati from the Ministry of Industry, Scarf Media CEO Temi Sumarlin, and Wardah Beauty Head of Brand Building Findi Novia.

Meanwhile, Wardah partnered with the organizers to offer personal color analysis, skin consultations, and interactive creator spaces, including a portrait studio and interview corner for digital content production.

The gathering concluded with an exclusive preview of Halal Indo 2026, which will expand across three exhibition halls. The event will showcase innovations in modest fashion, food and beverages, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and Muslim-friendly tourism.

Halal Indonesia International Industry Expo (Halal Indo) 2026 will take place from Sept. 24–27, 2026, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City.
