Jakarta, ThedailyID — Indonesia’s broad money supply (M2) rose 8.7% year-on-year to Rp10,432.8 trillion in June 2026, according to data released by Bank Indonesia (BI) on July 23.
The growth remained positive but slowed from 10.8% in May 2026.
BI said stronger liquidity reflected continued expansion in both narrow money (M1) and quasi-money.
Narrow money increased 9.8% from a year earlier, while quasi-money grew 6.9% during the same period.
The central bank said bank lending and net claims on the central government remained the main drivers of money supply growth.
Outstanding bank credit expanded 12.1% year-on-year in June. That marked an improvement from the 10.8% growth recorded in May.
Meanwhile, net claims on the central government increased 10.1% from a year earlier.
However, that figure represented a slower pace than the 37.4% annual growth reported in May 2026.
Bank Indonesia said the latest data showed that liquidity conditions remained supportive, although the pace of monetary expansion eased compared with the previous month.
