Iran Launches Drone Strikes on 2 U.S. Bases After Death of 2 American Soldiers

Jakarta, ThedailyID — Iran launched drone strikes against two U.S. military bases in Kuwait on July 19, marking another escalation in the growing conflict between Tehran and Washington.

The attack came hours after the United States carried out strikes on Iranian targets following the deaths of two U.S. service members in Jordan. U.S. officials blamed the earlier attack on Iran-linked forces.

According to the Iranian military, drones struck an ammunition depot at Camp Udairi as well as Patriot radar and air surveillance systems at Ali Al Salem Air Base.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that two American military personnel were killed in the missile and drone attack in Jordan. In addition, one service member remains missing.

The deaths marked the first U.S. military fatalities since Washington resumed military operations against Iran on July 7.

Earlier on July 19, the United States launched another round of strikes, including an attack on Sirik Port in Iran.

However, Iranian authorities had not issued an official response to the U.S. strikes at the time of publication.

The latest exchanges have further intensified tensions between the two countries after more than a week of escalating military operations.
