Galaxy Z Fold 8 Expected as Samsung Schedules Galaxy Unpacked in London

Jakarta, ThedailyID — Samsung will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, where the company will likely introduce its newest foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

“On July 22, Samsung Electronics will host Galaxy Unpacked in London, England, a city that continues to move forward by creating trends rather than following them,” Samsung said in a statement on Wednesday, July 8.

The company also teased “the newest member of the Galaxy portfolio that has defined the foldable device category.”

Samsung said the upcoming devices combine more advanced artificial intelligence with new hardware designs. The company aims to deliver a more personalized and adaptive user experience while setting a new benchmark for AI-powered smartphones.

Although Samsung did not confirm the Galaxy Z Fold 8 by name, industry reports continue to point to a July launch for the company’s next foldable lineup.

Samsung will host the event in London and livestream it through Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom, and its official YouTube channel. The broadcast starts at 8 p.m. WIB.

Several leaks have already revealed key details about the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

According to GSMArena, the device could feature a 7.6-inch QHD+ main display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It may also include a 5.5-inch QHD+ cover display with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

The rear camera system may offer a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Samsung could also include 10MP selfie cameras on both displays.

Leaks also suggest Samsung will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. Buyers may get configurations with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

The phone could carry a 4,800mAh battery that supports 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.

Reports also indicate Samsung has changed its branding strategy. Instead of launching as the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the new device could replace the previously rumored Galaxy Fold Wide. Meanwhile, Samsung may release the true successor to the Fold 7 as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Leaked dimensions measure 123.9 × 81.9 × 9.7 mm when folded and 123.9 × 161.4 × 4.5 mm when unfolded. Despite becoming slightly thicker, the device may weigh only 201 grams.
