Jakarta, ThedailyID — Authorities in Boyolali, Central Java, have reprimanded a district head (camat) after he allegedly sent an explicit video to a former employee.
Boyolali Regional Secretary M. Syawalludin confirmed the official received a formal warning after an internal review.
“The warning and reprimand have been issued,” Syawalludin said on Wednesday.
The Boyolali Regional Civil Service and Human Resources Agency (BKPSDM) questioned both the district head and the complainant during its investigation.
According to Syawalludin, the district head claimed he accidentally sent the video to the former employee instead of the intended recipient.
The complainant, identified only as A, previously worked at a bakery where the district head was one of the investors. She later resigned from the company.
A said she received the same nine-second explicit video twice at around 11:58 a.m. on March 30, 2026.
She said the sender never contacted her afterward to explain or apologize. As a result, she felt humiliated and harassed.
“I felt degraded. I waited for another message because I thought it was a mistake. However, he never contacted me,” A said.
She then blocked the official’s phone number, informed her family, and reported the incident to the Boyolali regent in April.
During mediation with BKPSDM, A said the district head admitted he had sent the video by mistake. He claimed he had intended to send it to his wife.
However, A also alleged that the official threatened her before she reported the case. She said he also demanded that she apologize.
The case has drawn public attention in Boyolali. However, local authorities have imposed only administrative sanctions.
