Jakarta, ThedailyID — Police have arrested one suspect in an armed robbery that left a man injured and resulted in the theft of 500 grams of gold from a house in Menteng, Central Jakarta. Authorities are still searching for another suspect as the investigation continues, according to Detik on June 19, 2026.
Central Jakarta Police confirmed they had arrested one suspect connected to the robbery. Central Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Chief AKBP Roby Heri Saputra said officers had secured one suspect but had not disclosed the person’s identity or relationship with the victims. He added that police would provide further details during a press conference.
The robbery took place on Tuesday, June 16, at around 12:00 p.m. local time. The victim, identified as MAH, was visiting the home of his colleague, identified as T, on Jalan Pati in Menteng.
Police said two suspects suddenly entered the house. They attacked MAH before stealing 500 grams of gold belonging to T.
MAH suffered injuries during the assault and remains hospitalized. Police said his condition initially prevented investigators from taking a full statement because he was nearly unconscious after the attack.
Investigators believe two people carried out the robbery. The Central Jakarta Police, supported by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Jatanras unit, continue searching for the second suspect while gathering additional evidence.
